UPDATE, 9:00 PM EST: WAPA confirmed earlier today that the emails were authentic. They also issued a statement that can be read here.
Yesterday we received the following email communication from someone who submitted a initial comment to WAPA-TV’s “SuperXClusivo” show. The thread contains a very strange defense of the show that we felt is reflective of how the show, its producers and its talent (Kobbo Santarrosa and Hector Travieso) treat their critics. The person who sent us the entire thread is adamant that they are real and that the response is authentic. We do have an electronic copy of the original thread.
The person’s name has been withheld, but in the interest of showing yet another example of how the show believes that the current boycott against it is part of a “gay agenda,” we are running the complete thread. The person who received the email also cc’d Intermedia Advisors, the New York-based private equity firm that owns WAPA.

Dear SuperXclusivo,
Thank you for your insulting reply. I am sending a copy of your reply to me, as well as my response to your reply, to Intermedia Advisors so they can see how you insult people who express their concerns to you. For Katie at Intermedia Advisors, let me translate SuperXclusivo’s reply, just in case you can’t understand what they wrote me:”NAME: I THINK THAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT PROGRAMS THAT ARE VERY OLD. THE WORD “FAGGOT” FROM TWO YEARS AGO ISN’T USED ON THE PROGRAM OF SUPERXCLUSIVO. IT SEEMS THAT YOU ARE VERY INFLUENCED BY PEOPLE FROM THE “GAY” WORLD. WE DON’T KNOW WHETHER YOU ARE “GAY” OR NOT, BUT YOU GIVE US THE IMPRESSION THAT YOU ARE. IT SEEMS THAT YOU DON’T WATCH U. S. TELEVISION, WHERE THEY MAKE FUN OF EVERYONE THE SAME WAY. THEY EVEN SAID BARBARITIES TO [OR ABOUT] OBAMA. YOU DON’T WATCH THOSE PROGRAMS, BUT YOU GIVE THE IMPRESSION THAT YOU ARE “SUPERGLUED” TO THE TV SET WATCHING LA COMAY. IF THAT ISN’T TRUE, THEN THEY FILLED YOUR HEAD WITH A MOUNTAIN OF THINGS. WITH RESPECT TO THE PUBLICIST WHO WAS KILLED, LA COMAY SAID WHAT THE NEWSPAPERS HAD ALREADY SAID. BUT IT SEEMS THAT THERE IS NO ONE MORE BLIND THAN HE WHO DOESN’T WANT TO SEE. WE THOUGHT THAT YOU HAD SOME VALID ARGUMENTS BUT WE HAVE SEEN THAT IS NOT THE CASE. ANYWAY, THANKS FOR YOUR CORRESPONDENCE. MERRY CHRISTMAS.”As you can see, Katie, whoever wrote this reply (perhaps Kobbo Santarrosa himself) assumes either that I am gay or have been brainwashed by gay people. (Whether I am gay or not is none of their business, but even if I were, I would still have the right to complain about being called a “faggot.”) They also assume that I don’t watch U. S. TV, which is not true, because I live in the U. S., and although I watch Hispanic TV, I watch much more U. S. TV, and I have NEVER seen any programming so crude as SuperXclusivo on U. S. TV. The people who say barbaric things to [or about] Obama are not mainstream or reputable media, as you purport to be. The programs that I complained about are not “very old.” Susan Soltero and Jenny Rivera were insulted for their weight just a week or two ago, and WAPA TV was so ashamed of what they said about Jenny Rivera that they removed La Comay’s comments from their web page after Jenny died. The comments about “faggots” and “monkeys” are a few months to two years old at the most. The comments about Jose Enrique Gomez Saladin are two or three weeks old, and La Comay did NOT repeat what was already in the newspapers. I challenge you to find her crass comments in any article written in the Vocero, El Nuevo Dia, or Primera Hora. To say that I have no valid arguments in such an offhanded way is insulting to say the least.I didn’t expect to receive ANY reply from SuperXclusivo, but I do appreciate the reply they sent me, because it shows the producers for who they really are, insulting, bad for business, and poisonous to the people of Puerto Rico. Katie, please forward this email to your bosses. Thank you very much!

NAME: CREO QUE ESTAS HABLANDO DE PROGRAMAS MUY VIEJOS. LA PALABRA “PATO” HACE CERCA DE 2 AÑOS QUE NO SE USA EN EL PROGRAMA DE SXC. PARECE QUE ESTAS MUY INFLUENCIADO POR PERSONAS DEL MUNDO “GAY”. DESCONOCEMOS SI ERES “GAY” O NO, PERO NOS DA LA IMPRESION DE QUE SI. PARECE QUE NO VES TELEVISION DE ESTADOS UNIDOS, DONDE VACILAN A TODO EL MUNDO POR IGUAL. HASTA A OBAMA LE HAN DICHO BARBARIDADES. NO VES ESOS PROGRAMAS PERO DA LA IMPRESION DE QUE ESTAS “SUPER PEGADO” AL TELEVISOR VIENDO A LA COMAY. SI NO ES ASI, PUES ENTONCES TE LLENARON LA CABEZA CON UN MONTON DE COSAS. EN TORNO AL SR. PUBLICISTA QUE MATARON, LA COMAY DIJO LO QUE LOS PERIODICOS YA HABIAN DICHO. PERO PARECE QUE NO HAY PEOR CIEGO QUE EL QUE NO QUIERE VER. PENSABAMOS QUE TENIAS UNOS ARGUMENTOS VALIDOS PERO YA HEMOS VISTO QUE NO ES ASI. DE TODAS MANERAS, GRACIAS POR TU COMUNICACION. FELIZ NAVIDAD.
La Comay’s comments about the death of Jose Enrique Gomez Saladin (“What was he doing along Calle Padial, a known hangout of homosexuals and prostitutes? Was he one of their clients?” etc. etc.) are only the most recent in a long line of incidents involving the show. You can view the program calling gay people “patos” here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z36NAJeWp1Yand you can view the program calling black people monkeys here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XkZHDT9tUc) and here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHzhbJmtz-0).There are many, many more examples of La Comay denigrating black people, gay people, and overweight people (Susan Soltero and Jenny Rivera, for instance), as I am sure you are well aware. Every time La Comay has apologized, she has later continued to keep saying the same kinds of things. I and many others have had enough, and we think it is time for SuperXclusivo to go off the air for good. Thanks for listening, and have a Merry Christmas!
Sincerely,
NAME
