A Call to Action on Puerto Rico to Deliver Letter Calling on Pope Francis to Address Colonialism, Oscar Lopez Rivera

On Monday, September 21, 2015 at 5 pm at the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the UN (25 East 39th Street), representatives of A Call to Action on Puerto Rico will meet with Rev. Msgr. Joseph Grech, First Secretary of the Permanent Mission of the Holy See to the UN, to deliver a letter asking His Holiness, Pope Francis, to address the colonial situation of Puerto Rico and the incarceration of long held political prisoner Oscar Lopez Rivera during his meetings at the UN, Congress and with President Obama.

The Pope has condemned colonialism as a sin. The letter has been signed by many notable members of the Puerto Rican community living in the United States and Puerto Rico.
