As we near the six-month mark since Hurricane María ripped through Puerto Rico, the Center for Puerto Rican Studies has published a very concise yet comprehensive summary about what those six months have been like. Here is the report:
As Centro’s page states, “Six months since Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, the initial phase of emergency disaster relief has concluded and the island has entered into a full-fledged long-term recovery and rebuilding phase. This report marks this important turning point and is divided into three sections.”
The sections are a timeline of important news events, an examination of disaster relief and an analysis of how people leaving the island will impact the diaspora.
