We wanted to share one more episode from our friends at the Latino Media Collective, who guest host for us while we are off.
Something is missing from the migrant crisis that is separating families: MONEY. There is a lot of money to be made off the misery of immigrants in the US. So the LMC speaks with Karina Moreno about the lucrative, billion-dollar deportation industry and how the profit motive undermines democracy and human rights. Moreno is an assistant professor in the school of business, public administration, and information sciences at Long Island University in Brooklyn.
