Hey, we normally don’t spend a lot of time worrying about what Tucker Carlson has to say, but his latest Monday comments essentially suggesting that Mexico does more to interfere with U.S. elections just can’t be ignored. This is a classic FOX News racist move from its xenophobic playbook. When in doubt and in the move to pivot, go for the tired AF anti-Mexican tropes. Lou Dobbs would be happy, but this shit just needs to stop because in the end, this is how the country’s anti-Mexican feelings stay alive. People need to keep speaking out. Maybe even organizations like the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) can be more forceful about these type of dumb comments? Step it up.
And spare us the laughter from FOX News colleagues. Was that Geraldo Rivera?
In case you want to know what Carlson said:
“I don’t think Russia is our close friend or anything like that. I think of course they try to interfere in our affairs. They have for a long time. Many countries do. Some more successfully than Russia, like Mexico, which is routinely interfering in our elections by packing our electorate.”
Hit it, Gollum:
