On Thursday morning, Democratic candidate Beto O’Rourke was on Morning Joe to talk about his campaign and other issues related to the 2020 election cycle. When asked about current front-runner Joe Biden, the Texas Democrat said that the former Vice President under the Obama administration would be a “return to the past.”
One of the reasons why?
Obama’s deportation record.
“You had immigration reform that had been languishing for 30 years, and within the Obama administration, 400,000 deported from this country in one year alone, destroying families and breaking up communities,” O’Rourke said at one point. “So we cannot return to the past. “We cannot simply be about defeating Donald Trump.”
