Tuesday October 15 is National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day. The day was coordinated by the Latino Commission on AIDS and is observed each year “to increase awareness of the impact of HIV/AIDS on the Hispanic/Latino population in the United States,” according to the CDC.
The Center for Latino Adolescent and Family Health (CLAFH) at NYU’s Silver School of Social Work is encouraging individuals and organizations to use #InvisibleCrisis and/or #NLAAD2019 as a means to educate the community about what it says is “a largely overlooked HIV crisis among Latinx in the United States.”
CLAFH has also created infographics in both English and Spanish with data and policy recommendations.
