On Friday, Twin Cities artist Maria Isa —who identifies as Puerto Rican and Latinx— sent us news of her latest Bomba song in memory of George Floyd, called “Como Duele” (How it Hurts).
“George helped me carry my Bomba Drum after many shows in Minneapolis. He was a gentleman who protected our community and loved our music, from traditional Afro-Boricua Ritmos to hip-hop lyricism,” Maria Isa said in an email to Latino Rebels. “Rest In Peace and rise in power with the ancestors, Big Floyd.”
“Como Duele” proceeds of streaming with be donated to Minneapolis organizations such as BLACK VISIONS COLLECTIVE, CTUL, AIM & MIGIZI in Memory of George Floyd.
