More Hate at Penn State? Latino Frat Tweets News of Racial Incident Involving Its President

Late last night, the Penn State chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta, a predominantly Latino fraternity also known as Omicron Alpha, began to share the following tweets:

Today, State College Police issued a media release about the incident @PennStateBetas tweeted:

The State College Police are investigating an incident that occurred on December 9, 2014 around 5:20 p.m. on the 500 block of East College Avenue. A 22-year-old Penn State student reported having water thrown on him from a Hetzel Plaza apartment window. In addition, the victim heard the suspect yell, “go back to your homeland.” The victim is of Hispanic descent. The Penn State Police are assisting in this investigation.

Individuals who have information about this incident are encouraged to contact the State College Police at (814) 234-7150 or submit an anonymous tip through the web. An award of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the responsible actors(s).
