During a Sunday interview with Univision anchor Jorge Ramos during the network’s weekly Al Punto how, actor Zoe Saldana said the following (translated from the Spanish) about President-elect Donald Trump: “I have faith in [Trump] because he is my nation’s president. I wasn’t raised to choose one person over the other. I was raised to be an American. To do my duty and offer my respect to America. Therefore, I will give him my respect, the respect he deserves, until the shoe drops, as we Dominicans would say.”
Over the weekend, Saldana also said this about the President-elect:
We got cocky and became arrogant and we also became bullies. We were trying to single out a man for all these things he was doing wrong … and that created empathy in a big group of people in America that felt bad for him and that are believing in his promises.
Right after the election last year, Saldana tweeted this out in Spanish:
America somos mejor que esto. Seguiremos hechando para delante y venceremos como pueblo! Un presidente no define el pueblo!

“We are better than this, America. We will keep moving forward and we will win as a country. A president does not define the country!”
