With all the hysteria Fox News and Trump talk about the “invasion” of a caravan coming from Mexico, we take a moment to show you the real faces of those migrants who are part of the 2018 Refugee Caravan, just another example of the types of caravans that have been going on for years:
We've partnered with @PuebloSF to place storytelling directly in the hands of migrants traveling through Mexico to seek refuge in the U.S. Currently, about 1,500 of migrants from Central America are traveling in the caravan.

Meanwhile, if you care about getting real news about the caravan, some Tuesday night tweets from our friend Adolfo Flores of BuzzFeed News, who is embedded with the caravan:
Another organizer said they pressured Mexican authorities into allowing members of the caravan to travel through Mexico to ask for asylum in the US “without traveling in the shadows.” https://t.co/8f4StglNSF

Couple of the migrants from the caravan I’ve spoken to say they’re still weighing whether to take a humanitarian visa or permission from Mexican immigration authorities to stay in the country temporarily.

At caravan general meeting Irineo Mujica said the caravan will continue and will not be stopped. The group plans on going to Puebla and then Mexico City. After that they will go on with asylum seekers.

Everyone else was encouraged to take a humanitarian visa in Mexico, a document allowing them to travel in Mexico for 10 to 20 days, or document giving them permission to stay in the country for 30 days to file an immigration claim. They will not go beyond Mexico City.
