Did you ever notice how many Spanish-speaking Christmas songs are about immigration or being far away from home? There’s a lot more than you might think, whether these songs specifically speak on the immigration experience or others that celebrate diverse holiday traditions.
In this episode of #AmandaLaQueManda, Amanda Alcántara lists five songs from Latinoamérica y el Caribe that touch on this topic, starting with a popular cumbia by Pastor López and ending with a Dominican classic and holiday fav.

*Notes: the year when El Cha Cha Cha de La Navidad was written is unclear, it was issued in the Christmas compilation in 1975. Pastor López is Venezuelan, we say “Desde Colombia” because the song itself was part of an album “Para Colombia.”
