What is up with white men and their fear of strong Latinas?
Case in point, as Media Matters noted on Tuesday, take frequent Fox News guest Peter Morici, an economist and professor emeritus at the University of Maryland.
In a segment from Fox Business’ “Varney & Co.,” Morici had a few things to say about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her Green New Deal proposal. At one point, Morici said this: “This is a party that no longer believes in core American values. And it also shows us what’s going on with immigration. Basically what you have in Ocasio-Cortez are Latin American values. Instead of us assimilating them, they are assimilating us. And they want to bring the kind of socialism that destroyed Venezuela, and frankly Mexico, here. You know, it isn’t that we’re going to become Venezuela, but we could easily become Mexico, and you won’t be able to go outside your door without getting shot. And if you say, ‘Hey Peter, boy aren’t you really going over the top,’ think about what the last eight or ten years have been like in Chicago.”
Here’s the clip:
And here’s our response to the professor:
Seriously, do we have to Tom Brokaw this conversation again? Did we not just talk about this recently?
Do we really need to explain this one? AGAIN?
If we’re not careful we’ll soon be caring for our elders and not kicking our kids out of the house when they turn 18.

God forbid that we promote the dreaded Latin American tendency to place a high value on the nuclear family unit, strong religious beliefs, and a hard work ethic to provide better opportunities for our children. #AsAmericanAsApplePie

? no one person, and certainly no political leader(s), represent “Latin American values.”
