Current Secretary of Justice Wanda Vásquez will assume the gubernatorial role on August 2.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — More than 100 protesters gathered around the Puerto Rico governor’s mansion on Wednesday in a renewed push to oust Gov. Ricardo Rosselló, while his spokesman stressed that he has not resigned but said little else about whether he planned to stay in office or leave.

As a libertarian, I’m happy to see the spirit of liberty and personal responsibility shining bright.

A farewell address is expected on Wednesday.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — A Puerto Rico judge issued search warrants for the cellphones of government officials involved in a crude and offensive online chat whose leak has set off a political crisis that threatens to bring down the U.S. territory’s governor.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Puerto Rico braced early Monday for what many people expected to be one of the biggest protests ever seen in the U.S. territory as irate islanders pledged to drive Gov. Ricardo Rosselló from office.

Our local politicians have indeed failed us, much like U.S. political leaders have betrayed the trust of the American people.

“In this scenario, I am announcing that I will not seek re-election as governor in the next year. In addition, I am also resigning the presidency of the New Progressive Party,” Rosselló said in Spanish.
