WASHINGTON (AP) — President-elect Joe Biden plans to unveil a sweeping immigration bill on Day One of his administration, hoping to provide an eight-year path to citizenship for an estimated 11 million people living in the U.S. without legal status, a massive reversal from the Trump administration’s harsh immigration policies.

Biden’s immigration policies may seem to be an improvement from Donald Trump’s but without a clear Latin American policy agenda, his success may be limited.

On Tuesday, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden sat down with José Díaz-Balart of Telemundo Noticias for a interview.

There are plenty of reasons why Biden’s record on Puerto Rico is superior to that of President Trump’s.

An estimated 14.6 million Latinos are expected to cast a ballot in November, a 15 percent jump from the 2016 race.

“By the way, what you all know, but most people don’t know, unlike the African-American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly different attitudes about different things,” Biden said.

“And by the way,” Biden said at one point. “ICE is going to back to school.
